Sansevieria 'Moonshine' is a gorgeous snake plant (aka Mother-in-law's Tongue) cultivar with distinctive short, wide, and pale silvery-green leaves. Like other sansevieria, Moonshine is renowned for being a low-maintenance plant that can thrive in various light conditions.

Care guide

Caring for Sansevieria 'Moonshine'

Sansevieria 'Moonshine' can tolerate a wide range of light conditions, from bright indirect light to low light. However, it thrives best in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, especially during the hottest parts of the day, as it can scorch the leaves.

Sansevieria 'Moonshine' likes being root-bound and doesn't require frequent repotting. Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a slightly larger pot and fresh potting mix.

 

Low light light

Sansevieria 'Moonshine' can handle low light conditions and can thrive placed in a room with east or west facing windows. Remember that low-light doesn't mean no-light and just because Sansevieria 'Moonshine' is shade loving, it doesn't mean that it won't enjoy some medium indirect light now and again.

 

Moderate watering

Water Sansevieria 'Moonshine' when the top half of the soil is dry to your finger. Give Sansevieria 'Moonshine' a full soak until water drains out the bottom of the pot.

 

Low humidity

Sansevieria 'Moonshine' prefers dry to average household humidity and a warm environment. Keep Sansevieria 'Moonshine' out from high-humidity environments which can lead to fungal problems and rot.

 

Fertilize Seasonally

Sansevieria 'Moonshine' doesn't need much when it comes to fertilization and micronutrients. Give it a boost at the beginning of its growing season with some diluted liquid fertilizer and let it be.
